With elegant graphs and an interface that’s a genuine joy to use, Copilot helps you visualize exactly where your money is going; its smart algorithms, driven by machine learning, are especially adept at automatically categorizing transactions. Neat trick: The app scours your transactions to uncover recurring charges you might be overlooking.

Except for Budgeting, I absolutely love it!

First of all, at this time, I have no real

“Investments”, so if you have investments beyond stocks and bonds, those categories may be a little light for you.

As far as Budgeting, there is something included called a Budget, but it is nothing like what I hoped for. I wanted to see two or three things not yet included: Ideally, I would like to see:

1. How much I expect to have in income, both from my projection and from actual historical data (Last 12 months, but at least last month)

2. From my list of Recurring Transactions (which is included), I want to see very clearly, what they total to.

3. If my projected income is not enough to meet those expectations, I want to see and hear a fire alarm louder than my Mac is capable of. (or at least, see clearly that I need to find an increase in income this or next month!)

Beyond those changes, it took me a while to figure out how to clear transactions in the Recurrings list. I just figured it didn’t work.

My Apple credit card didn’t show transactions for several months before I discovered how to fix the problem.

It really is an evolving application, thanks to the subscription model, which I abhor, but in this case, it is worth the continued development.

Thanks for honest feedback! The behaviors you're experiencing for your recurring transactions not being captured are unusual.

Can you contact us via the in-app chat? We'd love to help troubleshoot this issue for you as well as the the issue regarding your incorrect categorized transactions.

Good for single people with simple finances

The app basically tags your spending into different categories, and is good at it, but is light on keeping track of your budget vs actual spending. That isn’t to say it lacks those feature, but if you’re used to Quicken or Mint or any of the legacy budgeting apps, its budget analysis features are limited. If you’re single and have simple finances what they have is probably enough. The other thing that’s missing is support for joint accounts for couples to work together on shared expenses. The workaround requires two separate CoPilot subscriptions, one for her, and one for me, which is twice the work and twice the cost as we both end up having to categorize joint transactions. That being said, the functionality that is there works well once you get past some of the quirky UI behavior, and support does eventually get back to you.

Developer Response ,

Hey there, thank you for sharing this feedback. Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! We totally understand how important budget analysis and joint account support are, and we’re actively working on expanding these features.

We prioritize stability and smooth functionality, which is why some of these features may take a bit longer to roll out. We’re glad to hear the core functionality is working well, and we appreciate your patience as we continue to improve the app.
